Abstract: The Well-being in the Information Society (WIS) conference series celebrated its sixth biennial event this year. Started in 2006, the conference seems to be more at the heart of our societal and scientific needs than ever before. Much has been learnt during the first 10 years of the conference series and soon we will enter the teenage years, where new avenues and visions will surely emerge. Issues such as the global refugee crisis, rapid urbanization, circular economy, increasing digitalization, all-encompassing globalization, and a continually evolving understanding and knowledge of health and well-being are all at the very core of the long-term WIS agenda.
