Abstract: A 53-year-old man presented with a 2-year history of constipation and tenesmus. Colonoscopy performed in January 2012, diagnosed a large fungating tumour in the lower rectum 7–8 cm from the anal verge. Biopsies confirmed a World Health Organization (WHO) grade 2 or intermediate grade neuroendocrine tumour (NET) of L-cell type (Ki67 index of 3–4%).
