Using digital solutions to increase access and implementation to best practice evidence.

Abstract

Implementation of best practice recommendations into clinical practice at the bedside can be challenging for busy clinicians. Barriers to implementation include obtaining rapid access to relevant evidence-based recommendations that address key clinical questions. This study evaluated the introduction of a QR coding system and digital platform, that allowed staff to be linked directly into the relevant clinical practice guideline and educational micro-learning video resources. Nearly all nurses were certain that the learning hub would be useful in the future to guide nursing skills. The learning hub improved nurses’ confidence. Most nurses perceived that the learning hub changed their nursing knowledge. Almost all nurses perceived the learning hub changed their nursing practice.
