dc.description.abstractContrary to what is commonly believed, the role of coronary artery bypass surgery remains very strong in the management of patients with severe coronary artery disease. Registry data on patients with three-vessel coronary artery disease requiring revascularization suggest that in the first month there is little difference in the outcome between coronary artery bypass surgery and percutaneous intervention (PCI). The mortality after PCI is similar to that of coronary artery bypass surgery although the populations are different. Continues.en_US
